The Signal Emotion App provides sound mode selection, channel test, volume adjustment, equaliser adjustment, delay control, positive and negative phase, crossover, mute and other professional audio DSP functions.

Connecting the Signal Emotion App to the Processor Unit

To connect the Signal Emotion App to the unit, tap 'CONNECT' on the top right corner.

A list of devices will be shown. Select 'SE Box'.

When the Bluetooth connection has been established, the App will start initializing and you can see the Sound Mode highlighted in sequence.

When initialization has been completed, the App should now show the home screen with the Bluetooth icon in red.

To select the input, tap on the input button above the master volume control on the home screen and the input menu will be shown. Some of the listed inputs are only available with certain hardware.

If the source is splitting the signal frequency, select 'Combiner' and use the 'Frequency Combine' setting to configure the input frequency level.

Crossover can be independently set for each channel, by first selecting the channel, and then tapping on the frequency and slope settings under the High Pass Filter (left) and Low Pass Filter (right).

Key in the Crossover frequency in hertz.

Crossover slope can be selected from the list of 0dB, -6dB, -12dB, -18dB and -24dB. The filter is turned off when set to 0dB.

High Pass

A High Pass filter (e.g. for tweeter in an active setup) can be configured by setting the parameters for the HPF.

Band Pass

A Band Pass filter (e.g. for midrange in an active setup) can be configured by setting both the HPF and LPF parameters. The left and right channel parameters can be linked for symmetrical configuration.

Low Pass

A Low Pass filter (e.g. for the subwoofer) can be configured by setting the LPF parameters.

Delay, Gain and Phase Adjustments

Delay can be set in 0.01ms increments to adjust for speaker placement and listening position. Swipe left or right to access the various channels.

 

Gain & Phase

The gain of each channel can be adjusted to equalize the volume and phase can be inverted (180°) to suit various power amplifiers. Swipe left or right to access the various channels.

 

Test

The App includes a test page where a test tone can be played from each of the channels (or combination) to check the time alignment, gain and phase adjustments

The 36-band Equalizer can be individually for each channel in 1dB steps. When used on certain hardware, the band frequency and Q factor can be changed. Swipe left or right to access the various frequencies.

 

Linkage

The left and right channels can be linked when setting the equalizer by tapping on 'LINKAGE'.
